Book 2 – Made By Design News

All you Blood Bound fans out there will be thrilled to hear that Made By Design, Book 2 in the Blood Bound Series is now through the revision stage and has been forwarded to my editor for review.

I have also started plotting out book 3, which I am so excited to be starting. Knowing the skeleton of what happens next , but restraining myself from starting (bar a few scenes I just had to write) has been difficult.

What Makes a Must Read Hero?

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life. They are the do-gooders that fight for the weak, the lost, and the masses. They are the ones who will sacrifice themselves to win out in the end.

But why do we care?

Sure, we can appreciate the lengths and selflessness a hero takes to save the day. We all want the good guys to triumph in the end. But if the hero saves the day and dies, will we weep for him/her? Will we mourn the world’s loss now that they’re gone?

Maybe…until we read on to find out next saviour.

The ones that stay with us, live or die, after their stories are long finished and re-shelved, are the ones that touched our hearts, souls, and our own understanding of life’s upheavals.

Perfect is Boring! Let me repeat that. Perfect is BORING!

Reading about a hero that is gorgeous, rich, smart, and without flaws, that saves the day without messing their perfectly styled hair, or breaking a sweat…IS BORING. And Unbelievable.

What perfect, has had everything handed to them on a silver platter their wholes lives person, would risk their perfect existence for others?

The answer? No one.

Only real people who’ve lived through heartache, despair, loss, abandonment, and abuse have the depth of experience to put their feet in other sufferers’ shoes. These mentally, physically, and emotionally scarred people don’t want or strive to become heroes. It’s not something they believe themselves to be, even in the heat of saving the day…or a perfect stranger. They simply couldn’t live with themselves if they stood by and did nothing. They see their past and current pain in others, the wrongs of the world and society, and they take action.

With the realness these heroes have had to struggle through to survive, they are rarely polite, Prince Charmings on a pure white stead. They are raw; hardened by life and everything that’s been thrown their way. Affection and love may be alien to them. They may carry horrendous physical or emotional scars and hide from the world—or bite its head off at even a close unthreatening gesture from someone who cares.

These real heroes fight for what’s right, while fending off their own personal demons. And they don’t always win. Each failure is a peg on their self-esteem and emotional state. But beyond each failure, even if they sail to rock bottom, they eventually get back up, dust themselves off, and strive for everything they’re fighting for, everything they believe in at their very core.

what-lies-inside-book-coverAmelia Lamont never asked to unleash her inner vampire

Amelia’s normal teen world is shattered when a terrifying nightmare awakens the monster inside her. A newfound, insatiable thirst for blood that leads her to drain the school quarterback is only the beginning; she’s horrified to discover that her family and best friend Kendrick have been harboring the secret all along. And is the strangely alluring boy who seems hell-bent on curbing her murderous, blood-filled desires a friend, or foe?

To escape detection Amelia and her twin brother Dorian are forced to move to a new town, and the challenge of a new, exclusive high school where nearly every classmate smells like prey. Including the irresistible Ty, who seems hauntingly familiar, yet darkly menacing …

Amelia’s disturbing dreams and entanglement in a web of forbidden romance render her increasingly powerless against the chilling lies and secrets of vampire power struggles. And, as she soon discovers, vampire politics mixed with outlawed love can be a lethal cocktail.

Falling in love may just cost Amelia everything: her friends, her family…even her life
